Fire Truck PJs

I started making these PJs for my newly-turned-seven year-old son in anticipation he could wear them in the fall. Well, this summer he's pretty much stopped wearing PJs at all. I'm hoping he will make an exception when it gets chillier.

I had purchased the fire truck print fabric at Hobby Lobby (while he was with me) quite awhile back. Like February. And I made some summer PJ shorts with it for my middle son. There isn't much you can make with quilting cotton prints for boys of this age, so I figured PJ pants would use up the remaining amount of fabric.

I used the Coastal Craze Baggies pattern, eliminated the pockets, and lengthened them into pants. I made size 8. They are baggy. I used eyelets and added a drawstring to the waist.

For the shirt, I used the free Day Camp t-shirt pattern--which only , added length, a little width and used the sleeves and cuffs from the Varsity Cowl Neck pattern  (affiliate link).

The red cotton lycra fabric came from the Peek-A-Boo fabric shop. I really think the weight and quality of the fabric is nice. The color was a little more vibrant than I'd anticipated, but pairing it with these pants makes a perfect match.

All options are my own. Affiliate links to the Peek-A-Boo pattern and fabric shop.
